Quilters Academy 1,
Beginning Quilting and Piecing.
This class is for those who want to learn to quilt from the beginning and for those who have been quilting for a while and need to improve their cutting and piecing skills or maybe you have noticed that you have wavy borders or that your points don’t match.
This class is being taught by Pam Treiber, who has been having great success teaching in the Norway and Marquette areas to large groups of students and now she is coming to Escanaba.
You will learn how to set up your machine and work area properly, what needles and thread to used, adjusting tension, drafting a quilt, how to properly cut fabric using rulers and advance up to piecing, borders and actually quilting your tops using your home machine and binding them. The cost is 160.00 for nine lessons over seven months.
It is nonrefundable but you can rejoin a later class if you miss some lessons.
This is a 9 lesson, 7 months course that meets twice a month the first and last months. You do not have to bring your sewing machine but do need to have a sewing machine in good working order that has a straight stitch to compete the assignments.
This is an intense class and you will have to be able to devote at least eight hours for homework every month.
